IMCBio PhD program – open positions

The IMCBio graduate school from the University of Strasbourg is recruiting 13 PhD students through its international PhD program.

This program, funded by the French National Research Agency provides PhD students with a 3-year doctoral contract, a high level interdisciplinary, as well as international training sessions and  possibilities to travel abroad to learn new techniques.

PhD research projects in life sciences cover the IMCBio graduates school’s main research domains:

Development and stem cells

Functional genomics and cancer

Integrated structural biology

Translational medicine and neurogenetics

Architecture and reactivity of RNA

Insect models of innate immunity

Plant Biology

Genomes expression and cross-talk in mitochondrial function and dysfunctionViral hepatitis and liver diseases

Selection process

Application deadline:  February 26th 2021 (noon time Paris). 

Candidates have to complete an online form in English in time via a web-based application portal. Applications will be evaluated through a three-step process:

  • 1st round selection: evaluation & ranking of applications by the IMCBio PhD committee in March 2021
  • 2nd round selection: shortlisted candidates are invited for an online interview session by members of the PhD committee in April 6th-16th 2021.
  • 3rd round selection: shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview session by the whole PhD committee and interviews with their possible future PhD supervisor in June 7th-10th 2021.

Final results will be given in June 2021. Start of PhD on October 1st 2021.

The IMCBio PhD Program is in English. International students willing to apply for the IMCBio PhD Program should inquire about the visa procedure regarding their country.

Welcome to the new IMCBio PhD fellows

We are very pleased to welcome our new PhD fellows who thanks to the international IMCBio PhD call, will start their PhD in October in the IMCBio research teams.

After a high level selection process, 8 applicants to the IMCBio PhD call were granted with a PhD fellowship. Amongst them 2 will work on a co-directed project between two IMCBio research teams.

Some of them will also benefit from our two-months “Mature your PhD” program and start to work on their future PhD project.
