Mission accomplished! IMCBio PhD students and colleagues organize the 1st IMCBio Summer School

Our first edition of the IMCBio Summer School took place from June 28 to 30, 2023 at the Université de Strasbourg.

Organized by PhD students from IMCBio and with the support from colleagues from our five member institutes and the life science faculty, 2nd year bachelor students from five different Universities had the opportunity to learn about our Master program.

The 2,5 day event included visiting IMCBio’s member institutes to perform small experiments, learn about scientific instruments and platforms, discuss in round tables with researchers at different levels and listen to current research topics in Strasbourg.

In addition to experiencing IMCBio’s research, the students had the chance to tour the beautiful city of Strasbourg.

After this success, we are very much looking forward to next year’s Summer School.

Thank you IMCBio Master students for another successful IMCBio Symposium

This year again from November 21 – 25, 2022, M2 students from the IMCBio program organized a successful international Symposium. Fourteen national and international speakers were our guests. This year’s program covered Plant Biology, Virology, Immunology, Structural – and Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as a distinguished lecture co-organized with the Cercle Gutenberg. Three different locations hosted the presentations this year : Institut de Biologie Moléculaire des Plantes (IBMP), Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IBMC), and the Institut de Génétique, Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IGBMC).

Students and lecturers had many possibilities to exchange, not only during the question time that followed the talks, but also during the coffee breaks and shared lunches.

After a busy and intensive week, we expect that all participating M1 and M2 students from IMCBio as well as their non-IMCBio peers left for the weekend with many new ideas and having made valuable contacts.
